GMR Infrastructure shares surge, Mexican traffic sluggish in Jan-2011

India's GMR Infrastructure reported revenue for the three months ended 31-Dec-2010 was up 27% to USD298.1 million, although the company reported a net loss of USD11.4 million, compared with a profit of USD6.8 million in the same period last year. EBTIDA rose 10% to USD83.6 million.

The company's airport segment reported revenue growth of 18.9% to USD38.2 million. Passenger numbers at Hyderabad Airport rose 17.5% in the three-month period, while Delhi Airport traffic increased 12.5% for the nine months ended 31-Dec-2010. Cargo volume at Delhi rose 23%.

Shares in GMR Infrastructure ended the day 13.5%. Shares in GVK Infrastructure were up 2.2%.

Mexico's ASUR reported Jan-2011 passenger traffic was stable, with domestic traffic down 2.3%, but international traffic increasing 1.2%. Fellow Mexican airport operator GAP reported traffic fell 1.9% in the first month of 2010. Domestic traffic eased 0.4% but international traffic was down by 4%.
