EUROCONTROL: new airport approach plan launched

The potential for improved Air Traffic Management (ATM) procedures to reduced the impact of aviation on the environment, not to mention reducing airline operating costs, has long been a crusade of aviation stakeholders in Europe. In the latest move to address environmental concerns, EUROCONTROL, CANSO, ACI Europe and IATA jointly launched an ‘action plan’ aimed at implementing Continuous Descent Approach (CDA) at up to 100 airports across Europe by the end of 2013.
