EUROCONTROL, IATA and CANSO commit to new European aviation efficiency plan

Premium Analysis

EUROCONTROL, IATA and CANSO have signed a tripartite agreement, committing the European Air Traffic Management (ATM) network to a new Flight Efficiency Plan (FEP), designed to help European carriers, which are struggling with the twin burdens of high fuel costs and the negative publicity associated with aviation and the environment. The FEP is a joint effort by air navigation service providers (ANSP), airports and airlines, aimed at delivering "tangible results in a short time frame" and providing a leadership example for other regional groupings to follow.
