Cimber Sterling reduces second quarter losses, remains optimistic

Shares on Danish LCC Cimber Sterling rose 0.6% yesterday as the carrier slashed second quarter operating losses from DKK41.5 million in 2Q2009/10 to DKK2.2 million in 2Q2010/11, as revenue surged 29% to DKK547 million.

The carrier reiterated its goal of becoming profitable in the full year 2011/2012. Cimber's shares have been on the rose for over two weeks.

Elsewhere, Air Berlin shed 2.3%, Ryanair fell 0.8%, easyJet eased 0.2% and Vueling gained 1.1%.
