China's Hainan Airlines signs contract to buy 8 B787 aircraft

BEIJING (XFNews) - Hainan Airlines Group has signed a contract to buy eight Boeing B787 aircraft, the Chinese company said in a statement.

The transaction was first reported in August.

"Introduction of Boeing's B787 to our fleet will help Hainan Airlines to improve its fleet structure, operation ability and market competitiveness," said Chen Feng, chairman of Hainan Airlines Group.

Rob Laird, Boeing's vice president for sales in China, said the deal will further promote cooperation between the two companies and will improve Hainan Airlines' operating revenue and international competitiveness.

Hainan Airlines currently has a fleet of 105 aircraft.
