Analysis

Beijing (XFN-ASIA) - China Southern Airlines will introduce non-stop flights between Beijing and Detroit in March 2009, according to officials at the US city's Wayne County Airport Authority.

The announcement follows reports earlier this week that said Northwest Airlines has been given tentative approval to launch daily flights between Detroit and Shanghai.

Guangzhou-based China Southern will use Boeing 787 Dreamliners on the new route.
