CAPA comes to America! Las Vegas CAPA Americas Aviation Summit in April 2015

Analysis

CAPA - Centre for Aviation will hold the inaugural CAPA Americas Aviation Summit, to be hosted by the Las Vegas Convention & Visitors Authority and McCarran International Airport, on 27/28 April 2015.

CAPA will convene five airline CEO Summits in 2015, one in each of the major regions, as well as its annual Asian Airline Finance Summit in March in Singapore.

Peter Harbison, Executive Chairman of CAPA, said "We're delighted to bring something different to the US conference landscape. CAPA's Aviation Summits have a simple formula: We gather airline CEOs together for candid and high-level discussions in a superb environment, and encourage them to stay on longer. This makes for entertaining and challenging discussions, as well as high level networking for our delegates. Our industry continues to evolve rapidly - incumbent airlines are adapting to the challenges and transforming their businesses, while emerging markets like Asia and Latin America are creating huge opportunities for the industry.

"Meanwhile, airline alliances are evolving, Gulf carriers are extending their influence, corporate travel is adapting to an era of austerity and a raft of technological change is driving new responses by airlines. It all adds up to an exotic strategy mix for airline executives - and some fascinating topics for discussion at our Summits".

Las Vegas, in April 2015, will be CAPA's first Aviation Summit in the Americas

CAPA is delighted to add Las Vegas to our global calendar next year and we look forward to our inaugural Americas Aviation Summit next April - it's a market of considerable interest and complexity among the industry leaders that join our Summits.

"We're very grateful for the support and proactive approach of the Las Vegas Convention & Visitors Authority," said Mr Harbison.

"Las Vegas is honored to host the first ever CAPA Americas conference" said Cathy Tull, senior vice president of marketing for the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority (LVCVA). "As the entertainment and convention capital of the world, Las Vegas offers a truly unique experience to the world's aviation leaders. From our $2.4 billion state-of-the-art international Terminal 3 to our ability to continually reinvent Las Vegas as an international tourism destination, Las Vegas is the perfect stage for industry leaders to connect and gain key insight into what the future of travel and tourism holds."

Some high level endorsements of CAPA's events:

"There are many events, and they're growing all the time, but CAPA seems to have an edge. And people enjoy coming to their venues and the substance of their content. When you look at what is being proposed as topics of discussion conversation they are very fleshy, they are to the point and they are very topical... CAPA offers rich content." - Tim Clark, President, Emirates

"It's a fantastic event. CAPA in itself is a renowned company. I'm very impressed by the factual and detailed analysis CAPA is always doing and as such it's a pleasure to be here. There's a very interesting group of people speaking, a group of colleagues, some who I already know and some who I will (get to) know, so it's a fantastic event." - Pieter Elbers, COO, KLM Royal Dutch Airlines

CAPA will hold the following Summits in 2014/15:

Some of the industry leaders who have recently taken part in CAPA Summits

"The quality of the contribution is very good. It gives you an opportunity to listen to an informed debate. And there's good challenge from the moderators in terms of the contribution that the individual speakers are making so I think the quality of these conferences, the CAPA conferences, are up there with the best, if not the best, that I've attended. I certainly enjoy and I learn from what goes on here so I look forward to attending future conferences." - Willie Walsh, CEO, IAG

"CAPA conferences and the CAPA Summit is an excellent opportunity for us to meet with industry colleagues and suppliers... and understand a little bit of what their concerns are and how they're addressing some of the same concerns we have. So the ability to meet with people, concentrated in the same place, having a good time and listening to everyone's point of view provides a lot of value, certainly in our busy schedules." - Alex Cruz, Chairman & CEO, Vueling

"As the host airport for the CAPA Airlines in Transition Gathering of CEOs in Dublin, daa found the event highly informative and totally interactive with high quality speakers and moderators. Access to these speakers was easy and one on one discussions were totally facilitated and worthwhile. We look forward to hosting future events in Dublin with CAPA" - Kevin Toland, CEO, daa
