Brisbane announced as 2016 Host City for the CAPA Australia Pacific Aviation Summit

(Sydney, 05 August 2015) CAPA is pleased to announce that Brisbane will be the host city for the 4th Annual CAPA Australia Pacific Aviation Summit in August 2016. The event, the largest of its kind in this region attracting airline and travel industry CEOs from across Australia, New Zealand, Asia and the Pacific, will be hosted by Brisbane Marketing and supported by a wide range of stakeholders including Brisbane Airport Corporation, Tourism and Events Queensland and industry.

The CAPA Australia Pacific Aviation Summit is the leading annual gathering of aviation and travel industry executives and is a key forum for high-level debate and discussion of the strategic issues facing the region's airline, airport and corporate travel industries.

In a significant expansion of the agenda for the 2016 event, the Summit will also provide new platforms for discussion on key Aerospace, MRO, Safety, Airline IT and Skills/Training issues facing commercial aviation in the region.

Lord Mayor Graham Quirk said Brisbane Marketing, Brisbane Airport Corporation, Tourism and Events Queensland and industry believed the summit would be strategically important to Brisbane.

"Hosting the CAPA Australia Pacific Aviation Summit gives us the opportunity to showcase Brisbane as a serious player in aviation, tourism and travel," he said.

"The event dovetails with a key recommendation of the Brisbane 2022 New World City Action Plan, which is to secure more direct international airline services and attract more visitors via current connections."
