Brazil targets radical shake-up of airports
The Brazilian government is considering various measures,
including selling shares in Federal airport agency, Infraero, to help raise
capital to overcome infrastructure deficiencies that are constraining the sector
and the wider economy. Brazil's GDP grew by just 3.7% in 2006, compared to 11.1%
in China, 9.4% in India and 6.7% in Russia – due in part to the growing
infrastructure bottleneck in the South American country.
