ASUR's pax up 8.9%; Mexico's GAP forced to postpone shareholders meeting

ASUR - operator of Mexico's Cancun, Merida, Cozumel, Villahermosa, Oaxaca, Veracruz, Huatulco, Tapachula and Minatitlan airports - reports total passenger traffic for Aug-2010 increased 9% year-over-year.

  • Passenger numbers: 1.4 million, +8.9%;
    • International: 765,055, +15.1%;
    • Domestic: 671,801, + 2.5%.

Mexico's Grupo Aeroportuario del Pacífico (GAP) (+1.1%) announced on Thursday (02-Sep-2010) it received notification regarding the existence of a preliminary injunction suspending the company's General Ordinary Shareholders' meeting held on 01-Sep-2010 in Mexico City. The representative of Banco Nacional de Comercio Exterior and Aeropuertos Mexicanos del Pacifico, together holders of more than 10% of the Company's shares, requested the postponement of the Shareholders' Meeting on the basis that they needed more information. The meeting has been rescheduled for 04-Sep-2010.

Meanwhile, OMA shares fell slightly by -1.3%.
