ARINC and Partner Bird Consultancy Services (BCS) Extend GLOBALinkSM VHF to 4 Indian Airports

Singapore/New Delhi (ARINC) - ARINC Incorporated, together with its regional communications partner Bird Consultancy Services (BCS) today announced the launch of ARINC GLOBALinkSM VHF data link communications at four major airports in India.


The companies have deployed new VHF air-ground stations at New Delhi, Kolkata, Chennai, and Mumbai airports. The service launch represents ARINC's first GLOBALink VHF coverage in the sub-continent.

ARINC has more than 190 VHF Remote Ground Stations in the Asia Pacific region, providing airline operational communications as well as supporting air traffic services. Each ground station supports several hundred square miles of airspace. BCS provides coordination and assistance in the deployment and operation of the four Indian VHF stations, including "First Call" maintenance.

ARINC and BCS are looking into other rapidly emerging markets in India for the introduction of GLOBALink and other aviation communication services.
