Abu Dhabi International Airport's passenger traffic growth plateaus

Premium Analysis

After months of slowing rates of passenger growth, Abu Dhabi International Airport may have found the floor of its passenger traffic drop off. According to Abu Dhabi Airports Corporation (ADAC), Mar-2009 traffic growth improved from the previous month, up 7.9% (compared to 5.8% growth in Feb-2009). Even better are the Apr-2009 statistics, with passenger growth returning to double-digit levels, up 12.9% year-on-year. While not yet a return to the 20-30% rates of growth seen early last year, it is still promising for regional growth and the strength of the rising Middle East hubs.
