2006 - a successful year for the Fraport Group
Frankfurt Airport achieved a new record in passenger traffic
for the 2006, welcoming more than 52.8 million (+1.1% year-on-year), helped
by traffic flows related to the FIFA Football World Cup. Cargo volume at Frankfurt
also performed well, rising by 8.4%, exceeding two million metric tonnes for
the first time. Combined, the Fraport Group’s airports (Frankfurt, Antalya,
Hannover, Lima, Hahn and Saarbrücken) reported a passenger traffic increase
of 2.3% and a cargo throughput increase of 9.3%.
