About

Zhukovsky International Airport serves the cities of Ramenskoye and Zhukovsky, located approximately 40kms from Moscow, Russia. The airport was used as a testing facility during the Cold War and more recently as a base for Russia’s Ministry of Emergency Situations and cargo transportation. It was inaugurated on 19-Mar-2016 as the fourth full-service Moscow airport complex, and the Russian government signed an order to established international services at the airport. The airport welcomed its first commercial service on 12-Sep-2016, with Belavia operating daily Minsk-Zhukovsky service. Zhokovsky Airport is expected to meet the requirements of low-cost airlines.

The name Zhukovsky was officially assigned to the airport by an 11-Nov-2017 order signed by Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev. The name aims to commemorate scientist Nikolay Zhukovsky and identify the location of the airport.
