About

Founded in 1993, Deutsche Flugsicherung (DFS) is the organisation charged with providing air traffic control services in German airspace. The organisation is 100% owned by the German Government. Since 1994, DFS has also been responsible for the handling of military air traffic in peacetime, though not at military air bases. DFS Aviation Services GmbH (DAS), a subsidiary of DFS, was created in 2017 following the merger of DFS internal Aeronautical Solutions and the DFS subsidiary The Tower Company. DAS controls air traffic at nine German regional airports as a certified air navigation service provider.
