Wizz Air reports profit growth in 1QFY2016

Wizz Air revenue up 13% - financial highlights for three months ended 30-Jun-2015:

  • Revenue: EUR332.5 million, +12.7% year-on-year;
    • Ancillary: EUR126.6 million, +23.9%;
  • Total operating costs: EUR297.8 million, +13.6%;
    • Fuel: EUR112.4 million, +10.8%;
    • Airport, handling and en-route charges: EUR84.5 million, +16.8%;
  • Operating profit: EUR34.7 million, +5.3%;
  • Profit before tax: EUR34.4 million, +11.0%;
  • Net profit: EUR32.9 million, +12.5%;
  • Passenger numbers: 4.9 million, +20.3%;
  • Load factor: 88.8%, +1.3 ppt;
  • Yield: EUR 4.45 cents, -5.8%;
  • Revenue per ASK: EUR 3.95 cents, -4.0%;
  • Cost per ASK excl exceptional items: EUR 3.54 cents, -3.3%;
  • Cost per ASK excl fuel and exceptional items: EUR 2.20 cents, -1.8%;

Wizz Air: "For the second quarter (July to September 2015) of the 2016 financial year, we expect to grow capacity, in terms of ASKs, by around 16% and anticipate a modest rise in load factor compared to the same period in the prior year.
