Wizz Air to open 22nd base at Debrecen in Dec-2015 with three new routes
Wizz Air announced (21-May-2015) plans to open its 22nd base at Debrecen Airport on 16-Dec-2015, with one based A320 aircraft and three new routes - see Route Changes Table for more information:
- Debrecen-Brussels Charleroi: Twice weekly service to launch on 18-Dec-2015;
- Debrecen-Malmö: Twice weekly service to launch on 18-Dec-2015;
- Debrecen-Paris Beauvais: Twice weekly service to launch on 16-Dec-2015.
The carrier also plans to increase frequency on its existing services from Debrecen to Eindhoven and London Luton. Wizz Air CEO József Váradi said: "Today I am pleased to make this major announcement for Hungary and the Hajdú-Bihar county. Our Debrecen operating base will make East-Hungary more accessible, further boost tourism and foster economic development in the region. We will create a number of local jobs with Wizz Air and our business partners while doubling our capacity from Debrecen Airport."
