USD18.1bn in savings through simplyfing business: IATA

IATA projected full implementation of its "Simplifying the Business" programme could save USD18.1 billion p/a for airlines through efficiency enhancements (Bernama, 15-Dec-2010). Enhancements include paper-free air cargo, reducing mishandling, facilitating the sale and distribution of ancillary services and making baggage rules clearer and easier to understand. Approximately USD4 billion worth of efficiencies have already been delivered through the programme.
