US Airways pax down 6.5%, RASM up 9% in Feb-2010

US Airways passenger numbers down 6.5% - consolidated traffic highlights in Feb-2010:

  • Passenger numbers: 4.1 million, -6.5% year-on-year;
    • Domestic: 3.7 million, -6.8%;
    • Trans-Atlantic: 91,473, -6.8%;
    • Latin America: 327,962, -3.9%;
  • Load factor: 77.2%, +0.7 ppt;
    • Domestic: 80.1%, +1.1 ppt;
    • Trans-Atlantic: 60.3%, +0.3 ppt;
    • Latin America: 75.6%, -0.6 ppt;
  • Revenue per ASM: +9%;
  • Passenger revenue per ASM: +8%. [more]

US Airways: "Our February consolidated (mainline and Express) passenger revenue per available seat mile (PRASM) increased approximately eight percent versus the same period last year while total revenue per available seat mile increased approximately nine percent on a year-over-year basis. The revenue environment continues to show material signs of improvement with corporate booked revenue up more than 35% on a year-over-year basis," Scott Kirby, President.
