United Airlines marginally upgrades 3Q2009 RASM outlook

United Airlines provided (16-Sep-2009) the following forecasts for the three months ended 30-Sep-2009:

  • Passenger traffic (RPMs): -4.0% year-on-year;
    • Mainline: -6.4%;
  • Capacity (ASMs): -5.9%;
    • Mainline: -8.4%;
  • Passenger revenue per ASM: USD 10.96 cents, -16.8%;
    • Mainline: USD 10.03 cents, -18.8%;
  • Cost per ASM: USD 11.69 cents, -19.9%;
    • Mainline: USD 11.05 cents, -20.1%;
  • Cost per ASM ex-fuel: USD 8.18 cents, -0.5%;
    • Mainline: USD 7.68 cents, -1.0%;
  • Unrestricted cash balance: USD2.6 billion. [more]
