Unite union to announce British Airways ballot result in mid-Dec-2009

Unite union state it would announce the results of a planned ballot of cabin crew British Airways over strike action in mid-Dec-2009 (AP, 02-Nov-2009). Voting on the ballot will commence next week. The union is protesting planned cuts to more than 1,700 staff and a pay freeze for current employees. Given the timing, the implied threat appears to be for strike action during the Christmas period.
