UAL Corp revenue up 14.9%, back in the black in 1Q2010

UAL Corp revenue up 14.9% - consolidated financial highlights for the three months ended 31-Mar-2010:

  • Total operating costs: USD4,172 million, +5.0%;
    • Fuel: USD958 million, +19.9%;
    • Labour: USD948 million, +2.9%;
  • Operating profit: USD69 million, compared with a loss of USD282 million in the previous corresponding period;
  • Net profit (loss): (USD82 million), compared with a loss of USD382 million in the previous corresponding period;
  • Passenger numbers: 18.8 million, +0.8%;
    • Mainline: 12.4 million, -5.5%;
  • Passenger load factor: 80.4%, +4.7 ppts;
    • Mainline: 81.3%, +5.0 pts;
  • Breakeven load factor: 78.9%, -3.2 ppts;
  • Passenger yield: USD 14.56 cents, +12.2%;
    • Mainline: USD 13.17 cents, +11.9%;
  • Operating revenue per ASM: USD 12.87 cents, +18.8%;
