Thai AirAsia welcomes first A320neo; 50th overall aircraft

Thai AirAsia received (19-Nov-2016) its first A320neo and its 50th aircraft overall on 19-Nov-2016. The aircraft is configured with 186 seats and powered by CFM International LEAP-1A engines. The airline said the additional seat capacity and greater fuel efficiency compared to its current A320s will, "translate to more savings for passengers." Thai AirAsia EVP Preechaya Rasametanin added, "When our fleet acquires more A320 neo planes in the future, we will achieve very significant reduction in our energy consumption." [more - original PR]
