Taiwanese airlines report increasing revenue from cross-Strait services

Taiwan's Tourism Bureau estimates cross-Strait passenger numbers are averaging 3,440 per day during the first six months of 2010, with the total to reach one million this year (China Taiwan, 04-Jul-2010). According to the bureau, Taiwanese airlines have reported up to CNY2 billion in additional revenue per month. EVA Air reported cross-Strait revenue accounted for 10% of monthly revenue of CNY900 million while China Airlines reported cross-Strait revenues account for between 10% and 15% of its CNY12 billion revenue per month.
