ST Engineering reports net profit up 27% in 4Q2009

ST Engineering reports (18-Feb-2010) the following financial highlights:
  • Three months ended 31-Dec-2009:
    • Revenue: SGD1,469 million, +9% year-on-year;
    • EBIT: SGD134.4 million, +41%;
    • Net profit: SGD129.7 million, +27%.
  • 12 months ended 31-Dec-2009:
    • Revenue: SGD5,548 million, +4% year-on-year;
    • EBIT: SGD486.4 million, -4%;
    • Net profit: SGD443.9 million, -6%.

Aerospace segment:

  • Three months ended 31-Dec-2009:
    • Revenue: SGD444 million, -6% year-on-year;
    • EBIT: SGD48.3 million, -24%;
    • Net profit: SGD51.3 million, -11%;
  • 12 months ended 31-Dec-2009:
    • Net profit: SGD185.7 million, -18%.
    • Revenue: SGD1,875 million, -3% year-on-year;
    • EBIT: SGD200 million, -15%
ST Engineering: "Although many countries were out of the recession by the end of 2009, downside risk remains as most governments are expected to remove stimulus packages and tighten monetary policies in 2010. Barring unforeseen circumstances, the Group expects to achieve a higher turnover and comparable PBT for FY2010 compared to FY2009," TAN Pheng Hock, President & CEO.
