Southwest revenue down 7.8% - financial highlights for the three months ended 30-Sep-2009:

  • Operating revenue: USD2,666 million, -7.8% year-on-year;
  • Operating costs: USD2,644 million, -5.7%;
    • Labour: USD909 million, +6.2%;
    • Fuel: 826 million, -21.4%;
  • Operating profit: USD22 million, -74.4%;
  • Net profit (loss): (USD16 million), compared to a loss of USD120 million in the previous corresponding period;
  • Revenue passengers: 22.4 million, +0.6%;
  • Enplaned passengers: 26.4 million, +2.8%;
  • Load factor: 79.6%, +8.0 ppts;
  • Average passenger fare: USD113.95, -8.4%;
  • Passenger yield per RPM: USD 12.94 cents, -12.0%;
  • Operating revenue per ASM: USD 10.76 cents, -2.2%;
  • Cost per ASM: USD 10.67 cents, stable;
  • Cost per ASM ex-fuel: USD 7.34 cents, +10.0%;
