SkyWest US operating profit doubles in 3Q2012

SkyWest Airlines revenue down 9% - financial highlights for three months ended 30-Sep-2012:

  • Operating revenue: USD865.3 million, -9.4% year-on-year;
  • Operating costs: USD810.3 million, -12.7%;
    • Labour: USD297.1 million, +3.0%;
    • Aircraft maintenance, materials and repairs: USD163.8 million, -13.7%;
  • Operating profit: USD55.0 million, +105%;
  • Net profit: USD20.9 million, compared to a profit of USD116,000 in p-c-p;
  • Passenger numbers: 15.7 million, +4.6%;
  • Passenger load factor: 82.2%, +0.8 ppt;
  • Passenger breakeven load factor: 78.8%, -2.0 ppts;
