Skyguide raises capacity 20% by restructuring upper airspace
Skyguide, Switzerland's air navigation service provider, announced the restructuring of the upper airspace over the eastern part of Switzerland, effective 02-Jun-2010. The new structure will enable Skyguide to handle around 20% per cent more traffic in the adjusted upper airspace, increasing peak aircraft movements from 100 to 120 per hour. The capacity of the airspace concerned has been reduced for safety reasons but will gradually be increased again over the next few days. Skyguide has taken various actions to cushion the impact of this temporary capacity reduction. [more]
