Singapore Changi Airport pax up 5%, cargo down 5% in Jul-2012

Singapore Changi Airport passenger numbers up 5% - traffic highlights for Jul-2012:

  • Passenger numbers: 4.4 million, +4.5% year-on-year;
  • Cargo volume: 152,900 tonnes, -4.5%;
  • Aircraft movements: 27,100, +4.6%. [more - original PR]

The airport reported traffic to/from the Middle East, Southwest Pacific and the Americas remained strong and witnessed double-digit growth. However, the growth in Southeast Asia and Northeast Asia traffic was weaker and in the low single digits. These two regions account for about 70% of total passenger traffic at Changi. As at 01-Aug-2012, 100 airlines operate at Changi Airport, connecting Singapore to more than 220 cities in 60 countries around the world.
