Singapore Airlines pax numbers up 2% in Aug-2014, 83% load factor

Singapore Airlines reports (15-Sep-2014) the following traffic highlights for Aug-2014:

  • Passenger numbers: 1.7 million, +1.9% year-on-year;
  • Passenger load factor: 83.1%, +0.7 ppt;
    • East Asia: 80.3%, -0.5 ppt;
    • Americas: 86.4%, -2.5 ppts;
    • Europe: 88.2%, +0.1 ppt;
    • South West Pacific: 85.6%, +7.1 ppts;
    • West Asia and Africa: 69%, -0.1 ppt;

Singapore Airlines: "Demand was strong for South West Pacific. Passenger carriage for East Asia and West Asia and Africa increased, albeit at a lower pace than capacity growth. PLF for Americas declined due to weaker demand. The operating environment remains challenging.
