Singapore Airlines pax numbers down 2% to 1.5m in Jan-2015, load factor down 3 ppts to 77%

Singapore Airlines reports (16-Feb-2015) the following traffic highlights in Jan-2015:

  • Passenger numbers: 1.5 million, -1.8% year-on-year;
  • Passenger load factor: 76.5%, -2.6 ppts;
    • East Asia: 68.4%, -2.8 ppts;
    • Americas: 75.5%, -8.6 ppts;
    • Europe: 78.1%, -3.5 ppts;
    • South West Pacific: 84.9%, +0.1 ppt;
    • West Asia and Africa: 77.4%, +3.6 ppts;

Singapore Airlines: "Demand was generally weaker due to the shift in the Chinese New Year holidays from January in 2014 to February in 2015. The competitive landscape continues to be competitive and challenging.
