Singapore Airlines pax down 2%, load factor also down in Nov-2014. Market remains 'challenging'

Singapore Airlines passenger numbers down 2% - traffic highlights in Nov-2014:

  • Passenger numbers: 1.5 million, -1.6% year-on-year;
  • Passenger load factor: 75.7%, -1.3 ppts;
    • East Asia: 79.6%, +1.4 ppt;
    • Americas: 73.8%, -7.0 ppts;
    • Europe: 69.7%, -4.3 ppts;
    • Southwest Pacific: 81.2%, +2.0 ppts;
    • West Asia and Africa: 70.9%, stable.

Singapore Airlines: "PLF improved for East Asia and South West Pacific due to better demand and capacity rationalisation. Demand was weaker for Americas and Europe. The operating environment remains competitive and challenging. Capacity will be adjusted accordingly to better match market demand and promotional activities will continue in relevant markets."
