Rwandan Government to privatise Rwandair when it breaks even

Rwanda's Government announced it has also set aside USD98 million as capital for Rwandair over the next three years with the Government planning to privatise the carrier once it breaks even (Reuters, 03-Aug-2010). Rwandair's CEO Rene Janata stated the carrier is still at start-up phase and was not expected to make a profit overnight.

Rwandair: "Our business plan projects break-even in the year three to four and profitability in year five to six. This means it will be making huge capital investment in terms of equipment, manpower and systems to bring the airline to the next level," Rene Janata, CEO of Rwandair.
