Record pilot placement figures indicate industry recovery

CTC Aviation stated (25-Nov-2010) in 4Q2010 it has received requests from its client airlines to train more than 360 new pilots to be ready for the 2011 summer. Since Jan-2010, the airline pilot training company has seen a "dramatic increase" in the demand for pilots from client airlines suggesting a substantial industry recovery. CTC has trained more than 260 pilots for easyJet alone for the 2010/11 season and is also supporting Jetstar's plans to recruit and train up to 70 new pilots in 2010 as it develops its Pan Asian expansion. Jetstar plans to increase its fleet by a further 100 aircraft over the next five years. CTC also recently announced an agreement to recruit in excess of 400 pilots for flydubai over three years. CTC Aviation: "This has, without doubt, been one of the busiest seasons we have experienced with regard to pilot placement. We are seeing partner airlines requesting pilots for the 2011 season far earlier than in previous years and we are delighted to be able to support our clients as we move into these more positive times ... This year new cadet placements have hit a record breaking 292 for 2010 alone," Captain Lee Woodward, Head of CTC Wings and Executive Director. Source: Company Statement, 25-Nov-2010.
