Queensland Airports: Trans-Tasman market 'vital' to Gold Coast Airport transformation

Australia's Queensland Airports MD Dennis Chant, speaking at the CAPA Australia Pacific Aviation Summit, stated (07-Aug-2013) the Trans-Tasman market was "vital" to transforming Gold Coast Airport into the fifth busiest airport in Australia. Mr Chant said New Zealanders account for a large portion of inbound traffic at the airport and that the airport is working closely with Air New Zealand and other partners to stimulate low-season demand. Mr Chant added it would be "interesting" to see the effects of the appreciation of the NZD against the AUD on the Trans-Tasman market.
