Qatar Airways to fund 2011 fleet deliveries internally

Qatar Airways CEO Akbar Al Baker stated funding for 10 aircraft scheduled for 2011 will be done internally and the airline has no plans to raise funds through sale of bonds in the near future (Reuters/Gulf News, 02-Apr-2011). "They are funded by us. We are very OK. We like to keep everything in house at the moment," he said. He added that the airline will take delivery of one aircraft every 18 days on average, with the 100th aircraft, a B777 to be delivered in Jul-2011. In 2011, the carrier will receive B777-300 ERs, A320s, A321s and one B777-200F, Mr Al Baker said.
