Qatar Airways converts A350 order to larger models

Qatar Airways converted (03-Dec-2012) its order with Airbus from 20 A350-800s, 40 A350-900s and 20 A350-1000s to 43 A350-900s and 37 A350-1000s. Qatar Airways CEO Akbar Al Baker said, "We have taken the time necessary to come to today's decision in favour of the larger A350 XWB models which we believe are best suited to our business model." Airbus president and CEO Fabrice Bregier said, "This decision by Qatar Airways not only confirms the market trend towards larger A350s but it also demonstrates the value of offering...a true family of aircraft from which our customers can select the models that best meet their individual requirements."
