Premium traffic up 12.1% in Sep-2010: IATA

IATA reports (16-Nov-2010) the following premium traffic growth highlights by region in Sep-2010:

• Total international: +12.1% year-on-year;
  • Within Africa: +12%;
  • Within Far East: +18.5%;
  • Within Middle East: +32.9%;
  • Within North America: +0.9%;
  • Within Southwest Pacific: -0.1%;
  • Within Europe: +10.1%. [more]

IATA: "Although economy passenger numbers have recovered strongly, and in September were some 11% above the level in Sep-2008, representing 6% more than in Sept-2007, the latest consumer confidence data shows another downward tick in the index - it is however too early to determine whether this is the start of a trend or just a 'blip' - even so there is a wide range of experiences between regions which is likely to continue," Source: Company statement, 16-Nov-2010.
