Oslo Airport Sep-2009 pax down 5.1%

Norway's Avinor reports (13-Oct-2009) the following preliminary traffic highlights in Sep-2009:

Passenger numbers: 3.5 million, -4.2% year-on-year;

  • Domestic: -2.4%;
  • International: -7.3%;
  • Oslo Airport: 1.7 million, -5.1%;
    • Domestic: -3.1%;
    • International: -6.7%;

Avinor: "The significant decline in passenger development has continued, but the decline seems to be lessening from month to month. The decline in international traffic started in Oct-2008, when the impact of the financial crises fully struck. The current trend is a slightly weaker decline than in previous months. The same development is apparent internationally, but it is too early to draw any conclusions with respect to long-term developments," Ove Narvesen, Director of Public Affairs and Communications.
