Operational benefits of big data can be transformative: HK Express CEO

HK Express CEO Andrew Cowen, speaking at the CAPA Asia Aviation Summit, said (15-Nov-2016) big data can deliver more efficient operational processes and better understanding and engagement with customers. Mr Cowen said the operational benefits, "can be transformative," but the customer side of data is more complicated and can be intrusive. Mr Cowen said having data is not the same as having information to enable decision making and also noted issues with delivering data to aircraft and crew.
