Oman Air expects significant compensation for B787 delays

Oman Air CEO, Peter Hill, said the first of six B787s for the airline is not due for delivery until the beginning of 2015 and the airline is seeking compensation from Boeing for the delivery delays (Reuters, 17-Aug-2011). Any compensation payable by Boeing for late deliveries would initially go ALAFCO, the leasing company Oman Air is sourcing the aircraft through, and "in some shape or form come back to" Oman Air. The carrier expects "significant" compensation. Oman Air has no plans to cancel its orders.
