OAG forecasts 7% rise in global seat capacity in Aug-2010

OAG reports (02-Aug-2010) global airline capacity and frequency in Aug-2010 will increase 7% and 6% year-on-year, respectively. Details include:

  • Global: capacity +7%, scheduled services +6% year-on-year;
    • Within Europe: +7%, +5%;
    • To/from Europe: +7%, +8%;
    • Within Africa: +9%, +9%;
    • To/from Africa: +12%, +13%;
    • Within North America: +1%, +1%;
    • To/from North America: +4%, +3%;
    • Within Central and South America: +16%, +17%;
    • To/from Central and South America: +6%, +4%;
    • Within Asia: +10%, +10%;
    • To/from Asia: +9%, +9%;
    • Within Middle East: +8%, +7%;
