Monarch Group makes 'substantial' progress towards return to profitability by Oct-2013

Monarch Group reported (13-Jun-2013) the following financial highlights for six months ended 30-Apr-2013:

  • Monarch Airlines: GBP206.4 million, +10% year-on-year;
    • Ancillary seat revenue: GBP34.5 million, +42%;
  • Tour operations: GBP75.5 million, +15%;
  • Monarch Aircraft Engineering: GBP47.0 million, +16.7%;
• Passenger numbers:
  • Monarch Airlines: 2.0, +7%;
  • Tour operations: 188,000, +14.6%;
• Load factor: 79.0%, +0.5 ppt;
• Total revenue per ASK: GBP3.72 pence, +8.3%;
• Passenger revenue per ASK: GBP2.99 pence, +4.3%;
• Ancillary seat revenue per ASK: GBP0.63 pence, +39.2%;
• Ancillary non-seat revenue per ASK: GBP0.1 pence, -14.5%;

The group also announced "substantial reduction" in loss before tax by 71% to GBP14.9 million in financial year ended 31-Oct-2012, which is in line with its business plan objectives and major progress towards achieving its turnaround plan of return to overall group profitability by Oct-2013.
