Martinair to cease commercial services and focus on freight

Martinair, part of the KLM Group, stated it would suspend the commercial operations of its four B767 aircraft by 201, to focus on freight transportation (AFP, 23-Sep-2010). Approximately 600 of the company's 1,800 employees would be affected by the decision. The carrier has 11 aircraft dedicated to its freight services.

Martinair: "Martinair Holland NV plans to concentrate fully on its air freight activities as per the end of 2011, and to discontinue its passenger service. The KLM group would make every effort to keep affected employees within the KLM family," Company Statement. Source: AFP, 23-Sep-2010.
