Maran likely to become SpiceJet chairman

SpiceJet majority shareholder, Kalanithi Maran, is likely to take over as chairman of SpiceJet tomorrow (Economic Times, 14-Nov-2010). Mr Maran has also hinted at a possible "overhaul" of the airline's board. Maran, who has a 37.7% stake in the LCC, has appointed Neil Mills as CEO. Several senior directors officials, including the former CEO Sanjay Aggarwal and founder Ajay Singh, have already left the company.
