Malindo says Australian market 'very supportive' of first route to Perth

Malindo Air head of sales David Raj, speaking at the CAPA Airline Fleet & Finance Summit 2016, said (03-Mar-2016) the Australian market has been "very supportive" of Malindo Air's first route to Perth. Mr Raj noted: "We see a lot of gaps in Australia, including those left behind by the home carrier. We have started crunching the numbers to explore markets like Brisbane and Melbourne but of course with our fleet we can't reach those destinations directly so we'd be looking at a stopover in between." Mr Raj added: "But yes there are expansion plans for Australia as soon as 3Q2015."
