Malaysia Airlines’ administrative restructure saves the carrier USD204.5 million in 2009

Malaysian Deputy Transport Minister, Abdul Rahim Bakri, stated Malaysia Airlines' administrative restructure saved the carrier USD204.5 million (MYR667.1 million) in 2009 (Bernama, 14-Jun-2010). In 2007, the carrier's cumulative savings amounted to USD10.1 million (MYR33 million) and rose to USD117.4 million (MYR383 million) in 2008. The Minister stated the cost cutting measures have allowed MAS to evaluate its businesses and alternative measures to become a more efficient airline.
