Lufthansa to seek ash-crisis compensation

Lufthansa CEO, Wolfgang Mayrhuber, confirmed the carrier is seeking compensation for business lost and additional costs related to the Apr-2010 airspace closures due to volcanic ash (AFP, 07-Jun-2010). The carrier stated it is not seeking subsidies and suggested that a freeze on the entry of airlines into the EU emissions trading scheme may be a possible solution.
