Lufthansa raises fuel cost forecast for 2010 to EUR5.3bn

Lufthansa raised its fuel cost forecast from EUR5.2 billion to EUR5.3 billion, an increase of 43.2% year-on-year, in 2010 (Money.163.com, 29-Jun-2010). Lufthansa added it has hedged 78% of its fuel requirements for 2010 and 48% of fuel requirements for 2011. Meanwhile, the carrier expects operating results in 2010 to improve "significantly" from 2009 (China Economic Net, 30-Jun-2010).
