Lufthansa and ver.di fail to reach agreement in third round of negotiations

Lufthansa's ver.di union stated (19-May-2015) a third round of negotiations with the carrier on a new wage agreement failed to yield a result. As previously reported by CAPA, represents around 33,000 staff at Lufthansa, Lufthansa Technik, Lufthansa Systems, Lufthansa Cargo and LSG Sky Chefs. ver.di board member and chief negotiator Christine Behle said: "The employees of Lufthansa who strongly identify with the company and work for this reason with great motivation and commitment, are responsible for a high proportion of the profits which Lufthansa has achieved over the past year. They rightly expect that their work receives the necessary appreciation of their employer and they are rewarded with a reasonable salary increase." Ms Behle added: "They therefore expect the employer to submit a competitive offer." The parties will continue negotiations in Frankfurt on 03-Jul-2015. [more - original PR - German]
